Hackney Hills
A strong, near-unidirectional wind regime, resulting in extraordinarily high energy yields per area
The Hackney Hills Wind Project has an estimated 380 MW of generating capacity, and extensive studies to support an environmental assessment application have been conducted. The site is on provincial Crown land, is surrounded by all-season petroleum development and forestry service roads, and features very flat, treeless terrain that facilitates turbine placement and other development work. The site, at its nearest point, is about 55 km from an interconnect point.
